Sandile Zungu
Chairman
BSc Mech Eng, MBA (UCT)
Sandile Zungu, Founder and Chairman of Zungu Investments, holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and a Master of Business Administration from the UCT Graduate School of Business. He also obtained the Program for Global Leadership certificate from Harvard Business School.
Sandile is a seasoned businessman who has successfully exhibited leadership acumen in various roles including that of Chairman and Director on the boards of listed and unlisted entities. He is driven by the commitment to see greater economic transformation and empowerment for all with intentional engagements in policies that shape the aforementioned. Sandile subscribes to the philosophy “hard work pays its dues and integrity sustains gains”. The rising and solidity of his career is testament to the values he epitomises. Not only is he an astute businessman, but is recognised and honoured with accolades in academia, one such example being his inauguration as Chancellor of Mangosuthu University of Technology located in his hometown, Umlazi.

Sibusiso Gule
Independent Non-Executive Director

Sibusiso Gule, Independent Non-Executive Director, holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is Director & Senior Counsel and Corporate Affairs for Cummins Africa and the Middle East, where he leads the legal, real estate, security, corporate responsibility and project management functions.
Before joining Cummins in 2019, Sibusiso was Cummins’ relationship partner for some eight years at Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa (NRFSA), where he was also involved in the firm’s management serving as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman. He also served NRFSA as a Member of the Professional Recruitment and Development Committee and Chairman of the Diversity Committee. Sibusiso was involved in landmark cases reported in labour and employment law reports. His litigation experience encompasses work done in the Magistrate’s Court and High Court, as well as in commercial matters. His track record of service includes acting as a judge in the Labour Court, an assessor in the High Court, and Vice-President and President of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces (LSNP), the largest provincial regulatory body for attorneys in South Africa. His contribution to Employment and Labour Law earned him a Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural South African Professional Services Awards (SAPSA). At Zungu Investments Sibusiso also serves as a member of the Audit and Risk as well as Investment Committees.

Paul Serote

Paul Serote, Independent Non-Executive Director, holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of South Africa, a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Master of Philosophy in International Business from the Gordon Institute of Business Science at the University of Pretoria. Paul is an experienced business executive with robust operational, financial and people management expertise.
Paul is a visionary leader with extensive public and private sector experience. A Chartered Accountant by profession, Paul heads Kago Solutions and Advisory, a Level 1 advisory firm mainly in public sector financial management support and strategic business management. Over the years Kago Solutions has built a real estate advisory competence resulting in Paul’s secondment to the Department of Public Works to assist with the establishment of the Property Management Trading Entity (PMTE) as part of their turnaround strategy. Before joining Kago Solutions, Paul was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA) as the corporate executive responsible for international and provincial audits, national departments and state-owned entities. Paul also served as Financial Director and Executive Committee member at Budget Car Rental where he was responsible for the Southern African operations, including Botswana and Namibia. At Zungu Investments also serves as Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee as well as member of the Investment Committee.

Geoffrey Nzau

Geoffrey Nzau, Independent Non-Executive Director, holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Actuarial Sciences from City, University of London. He is a seasoned entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience in Financial Services in the United Kingdom, Kenya and South Africa.
Before embracing the entrepreneurial calling, Geoffrey was Managing Director of Afrinet, overseeing Alexander Forbes offices in 11 African countries. Being the first black actuary to practice in South Africa and the first Kenyan to qualify as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, Geoffrey’s unique qualification, skills and experience placed him in a better position to contribute his expertise to key institutions. He played a critical role in advising key state entities, including Transnet, Eskom, the National Treasury, the Government Employee Pension Fund and the Political Office Bearers’ Pension Fund. On the Board of Zungu Investments, Geoffery is Chairperson of the Social and Ethics Committee and a Member of the Remuneration and Investment Committees.

Charl Ferreira

Charl Ferreira, Executive Director, holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Accounting degree both from the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela University). A Chartered Accountant by profession, Charl is a seasoned business executive responsible for making investments, disposals, and managing the investment portfolio.
His extensive advisory experience includes consulting on and managing acquisitions, mergers, divestments, disposals, tender sale processes, listings and de-listings on the JSE, capital raisings and senior, mezzanine, and project finance-based lending in the mining industry. He spent many years with Nedbank Capital in the Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory team, and within the Mining & Resource Finance team. Charl serves as a member of the Zungu Investments board and a shareholder representative on a few boards and board sub-committees within the group.

Bathabile Poro

Bathabile Poro, Chief Financial Officer at Zungu Investments, holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela University), and a Bachelor of Accounting Science with Honours degree from the University of South Africa. A qualified Chartered Accountant, she is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, risk management, budgeting and forecasting, as well as group treasury.
Prior to joining Zungu Investments Bathabile worked at Absa Capital Product Control Group where she obtained a wealth of experience in understanding products traded in financial markets as well as financial markets risk. During her time at Absa, Bathabile’s problem solving skills were in part cemented in the reporting team where she interacted with various stakeholders across CIB. Bathabile serves as a member of the Zungu Investments board and a shareholder representative of a few boards and board sub-committees within the group.

Mfundo Zungu, Senior Investment Associate at Zungu Investments, holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Business Finance from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance from the University of Cape Town.
Mfundo has been responsible for several acquisitions and disposals, share buy-backs, short- and long-term capital raising, and creating a private equity fund. His experience includes financial analysis, company valuations, capital raising and structuring, financial modelling, conducting company due diligence, on-balance sheet asset management, corporate finance advisory and deal execution. His time at Mettle Corporate & Specialised Finance enhanced his experience in corporate finance advisory on both the buy and sell sides, as well as capital raising and structuring across various industries and jurisdictions. Mfundo also serves as a shareholder representative on the board of AmaZulu Football Club, and an invitee to the Zungu Investments board.

Sinenjabulo Zungu-Ntuli

Sinenjabulo Zungu-Ntuli, Chief Marketing Officer at Zungu Investments, holds an International Master of Business Administration from IE Business School in Spain, and a Bachelor of Business Science with Honours in Marketing from the University of Cape Town. Sinenjabulo is also the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Amazulu Football Club, responsible for driving its business strategy, sponsorships and partnerships, stakeholder relations, marketing, and commercialisation.
Sinenjabulo started her career in the out-of-home media space (Outdoor advertising) as a marketing analyst where she also represented the industry, Out of Home Media South Africa, abroad as part of the marketing committee. To explore her entrepreneurial flair, Sinenjabulo co-founded a biometric technology business-to-business access control systems reseller in 2013. She was appointed CEO of Qhubeka Forensic Services in 2017 an organization she now serves as a Non-Executive Director and majority shareholder.
